Summer is Here

by | Jun 18, 2024

Winter and spring have come and gone, and summer is finally here. Our schedules usually get changed over the summer, whether it be from vacations, school breaks, or otherwise. However, with the extra free time, make sure to give the first-fruits of that to God.

As God the Creator of All, He is the reason for every season. Therefore, every season and day we should be sure to give it to Him. There will be temptations this summer, to watch an excessive amount of TV, to be slothful, and waste the time given to you. Instead, I encourage you to take the time to pray or read the Bible. Or, maybe get a group of people you meet with during the rest of the year and do some volunteer work. All of these things will be much more pleasing to God.

“knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” (Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭24‬).

However, this is not to say that there is no place for a healthy break. After all, “God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation” (Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬). So take some time to enjoy time with your family and friends too. Take some time to eat your favorite foods and spend time at the beach. But remember, even though we are on break, our devotion to God never is.
