Life is full of moments that test our strength—unexpected loss, disappointment, or times when we simply feel out of place. Yet as we learn from Joshua 1:9, we are commanded to “be strong and courageous,” not because of our own abilities, but because God promises, “I am with you wherever you go.”
It’s not about how strong we are, but about the One who goes with us. When we let Jesus increase in our lives, our stories—even the broken parts—become a testimony to His power and love.
God Uses Our Stories for His Glory
Our identity isn’t found in what we do or the pain we’ve experienced. It’s rooted in Christ and the reality that God can enter any tragedy and bring hope and healing. Like John the Baptist, who said, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30), our calling is to point others to Jesus through the way we live, love, and share our stories.
Whether at work, in our neighborhoods, or within our families, we are called to be witnesses. Acts 1:8 reminds us that the Holy Spirit empowers us to “be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.” That includes right where you are today.
Take Action: Living with Intentionality and Courage
- Reflect on Your Story: How has God met you in your own moments of brokenness? Take time this week to identify a part of your story where God’s presence made a difference.
- Share Your Story: Consider how you can share your journey with someone in your life. Invite a friend for coffee, join a community event, or simply offer a listening ear.
- Partner with Others: We’re not meant to do this alone. Find a friend or family member to pray with and encourage each other in reaching out.
- Ask Jesus to Reveal Himself: If you’re searching or unsure about faith, ask Jesus to show you who He is. He promises to meet us where we are.
God is writing a beautiful story in each of our lives—even through the wilderness and brokenness. He invites us to join Him, participate in His work, and courageously share the hope we’ve found.
Prayer: Father, thank You for meeting us in our brokenness and transforming our stories for Your glory. Give us courage to live out our faith, to love boldly, and to point others to Jesus. Help us use our everyday moments as opportunities to share Your hope and love. May we always remember that You are with us, wherever we go. Amen.
