Replacing “What If?” With Possibility

by | Nov 30, 2021

As people, it is natural for us to fear the unknown. Anything could happen, after all, even the worst. What if the worst happens? Then again, what if nothing happens, or even the best? At the other end, what we don’t know is endless possibilities that we could never fully calculate. It’s terrifying and exciting. Even though God is with us as we enter these unknown parts, even He doesn’t promise that we will never experience hardship or hurt, but only that so long as we walk with Him in faith that He will never leave our side and that at the very end we will receive ever-lasting joy.

“Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,” 1 Peter 3:13-15 ESV

God calls us to venture out so that we may not become stagnant and complacent as His people. Those possibilities we cannot see are where we will grow and help others to grow with God.
