“Does Difficulty Deter You?” by Ryan Irving

by | May 12, 2020

Does difficulty deter you? Have you given up because your pursuit seemed too difficult? Lacking immediate results, do you become deterred?

Consider for a moment that every struggle is temporary – even if it’s long term – but the fruits of your labor may be everlasting.

Sometimes we give up, especially when self-doubt creeps in. “I’ve been at this long enough. Nothing is ever gonna change.”

In these moments I’m curious, are we trusting God’s timing for us or committed only to believing in our own?

We’ve all been in difficult seasons, perhaps you are facing one right now. You’ve committed to praying about it daily, yet your situation hasn’t gotten any better.

Are you prepared to simply give up because you think you’ve done enough? Will you forgo your commitment to trusting God due to temporary discomfort? Or will you persevere, push through despite difficulties, continue to pray and trust that in God’s time this will resolve?

Remember, God has placed us exactly where we are supposed to be at exactly the right time. Only He sees how it all works out for us in the end. It’s up to us to trust in that.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9
